Our Corporate Giving Programs

By far, the best way to get your employees engaged in a corporate team building event is by giving back to the local community. Toronto Cares Initiative has several opportunities available for corporations to create kits or put on events that will directly impact low-income marginalized families within Toronto. From holiday events to food security initiatives to supporting those with mental health challenges and the unhoused, we provide a plethora of options, each with the opportunity for your employees to engage with each other while giving back.

Produce Market & Food Bank

Team Building Event

We offer an amazing on-site volunteering opportunity, so your employees can get out of the office and actively support the community.

Toronto Cares' Produce Market is unlike any other food bank in the city. We offer fresh produce, purchased same day for all clients. While low-income clients receive produce for free, other families can receive the same items at discount pricing to help fund the market.

The most important piece of our Market, providing our clients with the DIGNITY and RESPECT they deserve by allowing them to choose their own food items individually.

Another great thing about our Market, nothing goes to waste. Anything left over at the end of the day gets donated to local organizations such as shelters.

Required Donation: $2,500 minimum donation for up to 15 employees

Shift Times: bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 10am-4pm, 10am-1pm, 1pm-4pm or 4pm-7:30pm

Upcoming Dates: Sept 17; Oct 1, 15, 29; Nov 12, 26; Dec 10, 24

What You'll Do: you'll either be sorting/packaging produce or serving our clients directly

Tax Receipts: provided for all donations by completing the form below

If you'd like to learn more about any of this specific program, please email helping.toronto.2020@gmail.com to get a copy of the event proposal.

Kits for a Cause

Kits for a Cause is a program run by the Bargains Group, where corporations are able to purchase supplies, that are shipped directly to their office, to create kits at their own facility, which would then be donated to a local charity or non-profit organization.

Kits for a Cause will work with your corporation in order to determine what items will be put into each of the kits based on your number of participating employees and your budget.

Types of kits that we require:

  • Hygiene kits (for the homeless)
  • Winter Wear kits (for the homeless)
  • Anxiety kits (for our clients with disabilities and mental health challenges)
  • Stocking Stuffer kits (for our Christmas gifts to children under 18 years of age

Some Basic Details:

Looking for an easy team building, hands-on, engaging and fun volunteer opportunity to make an impact with your employees, friends or family? Why not host your own kit packing event and pack kits full of our most needed supplies. This is the perfect option for: school groups, corporate volunteers, faith-based organizations and groups of friends! Tax Receipts & Sponsorships

The federal government is quite strict when it comes to giving charitable tax receipts. Your company, as part of its corporate giving, has the opportunity to either sponsor an event where your products and/or logo are present for our clients and the general public to be aware that you are sponsoring this particular initiative, or to receive a tax receipt in your company's name, but unfortunately it is not possible to do both at the same time.

Please visit our DONATE PAGE to complete the corporate tax receipt form, if you would like to go that route.
