Our Board & Council Members

Toronto Cares Initiative is run by a 12 member, entirely volunteer, board of directors & council (plus an Executive Director), with almost half of its leadership members being recipients of our services, to ensure our clients have a voice in the direction of the organization.

Our Founder

Sarah Robinson

Executive Director & Advisory Council Member

A single mom of a teenager, with several disabilities and mental health challenges of her own, Sarah founded Toronto Cares in March 2020 during the first lockdown.

Originally from the tiny village of Madoc, Ontario, Sarah moved to Toronto in May of 2010 & has been an active community member ever since.

She has been volunteering since the age of five with Girl Guides of Canada, as well as other organizations and initiatives. Sarah continues to run Toronto Cares, on a volunteer basis, seven days a week.

Her background is in psychology, addictions and special events.

Sarah has dedicated her life to giving back to her community and assisting the most vulnerable members of society.

In May 2023, Sarah stepped down as President of the Board, in order to become the Executive Director of the organization, to oversee a huge Federal Grant.
